Are Condorcet and minimax voting systems the best?

In a search for the best voting system for single winner elections with several candidates, five very different computer simulation studies were all won soundly by minimax. That led to an examination of the eight major anomalies which have persuaded many theorists to dismiss minimax. There turned out to be good reasons to ignore all of those anomalies. That suggests the unexpected conclusion that there may indeed be a voting system without serious anomalies or flaws, and it may be minimax. We start with brief descriptions of 18 well-known voting systems, but ultimately conclude that Condorcet consistent systems are best, with minimax best of all.
