I trained as a doctor, originally. I work on human 3D vision, from binocular vision to navigation, especially spatial representation in moving observers. Hence, we have an immersive virtual reality lab with a strong emphasis on accurate spatial and temporal calibration of the display. I have worked with many inspiring researchers in computer vision including Andrew Fitzgibbon and now with colleagues Phil Torr's lab. Biology lacks fully implemented hypotheses; computer vision and RL can provide these. But, it turns out, computer vision and RL also lack some of the insights that come from studying human vision.
