Hai Dong


Dr. Hai Dong is a senior lecturer (equiv. to associate professor in North America) at the School of Computing Technologies in RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. He is the leader of the Smart Sensing and Services Research Area, the deputy director and co-founder of the CloudTech-RMIT Green Cryptocurrency Joint Research Laboratory (GreenCryptoLab), and a member of the RMIT Centre for Cyber Security Research and Innovation (CCSRI). Prior to this position, he served as a Vice-Chancellor's Research Fellow in RMIT University and a Curtin Research Fellow in Curtin University, Australia. He received a PhD from Curtin University and a Bachelor's degree from Northeastern University, China. He published a monograph and 120+ (70+ CORE-A*/A/SJR Top-10%) research articles in international journals and conferences, including CACM, CSUR, JCSS, TIE, TII, TMC, TSC, TSE, ASE, ICSOC, ICWS, etc. He received the Best Research Paper Award in ICSOC 2016. He secured 5 million+ research funding from government (i.e., ARC, CRC, CRC-P, and QNRF) and industry (i.e., ANZ, CloudTech, and Telstra) as a chief investigator. He currently chairs the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Task Force on Deep Edge Intelligence. He served in the organising/program committees of 80+ international conferences, including CIKM, ICSOC, ICWS, etc. He was invited to review for 50+ international journals, such as CSUR, TKDE, TOIT, TSC, etc. His primary research interests include: Service-Oriented Computing, Edge Intelligence, Blockchain, AI Security, Cyber Security, Data Science, etc. He is a senior member of the IEEE and a member of the ACM.
