Dr. Nicholas Vretos obtaiend the degree of BSc in Computer Science from the University Pierre et Marie Currie (Paris VI) in 2002 and his Ph.D. from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2012. During elaboration of his thesis, he taught as assistant and worked as a research assistant in Artificial Intelligence and Information Analysis Laboratory. He has worked in several European projects as a researcher or work package leader or Quality Manager or Technical Manager. He has attracted more than 20M Euros in European Funding as main author of proposals. He has published more than 60 articles in high impact (>2.5) scientific journals and conference proceedings and book chapters. He is a member of the IEEE and has committed as a chair/co-chair for conferences and workshops and reviewer for several journals and conferences in the field of machine learning, image and video processing. His main interests are in Machine learning, image and video processing, semantic analysis and 3-D data processing in Education, Health, Migration and other social science related fields.
